Cue Ball English 101
Lesson 9 September, 2004
All year long I have been showing you what effect English has on the cue ball. Now I will show you how to apply English on the object ball. As in diagram one, place the cue ball and an object ball about ten inches apart, in a straight line with these two diamonds. Shoot straight at the object ball using right English only. Do not use any high or low English. The cue ball will stop but it will be spinning counter clockwise. The spin of the cue ball will make the object ball spin clockwise when they make contact. When the object ball hits the rail at the diamond, it will throw it to the left and go into the corner pocket.
